Terrorism has become the sound bite of the 21st century. Whenever the governments wish to lock away any person or invade a country all that is needed is the use of the word "Terrorism". There is no need for any verification for the validity of the allegation. The rule ‘innocent until proven guilty' has been replaced by ‘innocent until proven Muslim'.
So what is Terrorism?
The British Government defines Terrorism as:
The use of threat of action where:
1. Threat:"The use or threat is designed to influence the government or to intimidate the public or a section of the public and the use or threat is made for the purpose of advancing a political, religious or ideological cause."
2. Action: "Action falls within this subsection if it involves serious violence against a person, involves serious damage to property, endangers a person's life, other than that of the person committing the action, creates a serious risk to the health or safety of the public or a section of the public or is designed seriously to interfere with or seriously to disrupt an electronic system."
So who is the Terrorist?
One would think that this definition is general and should be a yardstick to measure all, but if truth it is specifically applied to Muslims only. As soon as the word ‘Terrorist' is mentioned the first thought that comes to mind is a Muslim.
But what about George Bush, when he said,
"God told me to strike at al Qaeda and I struck them, and then he instructed me to strike at Saddam [Hussein], which I did, and now I am determined to solve the problem in the Middle East."
Was his statement and actions not from terrorism? Clearly he used religion as a motive to attack the state of Iraq. Was is it not his ideology to establish democracy in Iraq and the Middle East even at the expense of killing innocent lives?
And what about Tony Blair (ex-prime minister) when he said,
"The only way you can take a decision like [going to war] is to try to do the right thing according to your conscience. I think if you have faith about these things, then you realise that that judgement is made by other people... and if you believe in God, it's made by God as well."
Surely his decision which resulted in the massacre of over 100,000 civilians in Iraq and over 800,000 civilians in Afghanistan (300 times more than the victims of September the 11th Terror attacks) by the use of weapons of mass destruction amounts to Terrorism?
The actions of these two leaders which were supported in full by Gordon Brown and the Labour Party, in which governments and civilians were threatened with intimidation for the purpose of advancing their religion, politics and ideology was a manifestation of State Terrorism. Their deeds did not just stop at words and threats but was executed with serious violence in the public domain, destruction of hospitals, schools, airports, mosques and other buildings which resulted in creating a serious risk to the health and safety of the public.
In light of their actions which are known to all, not one has been arrested under the Terrorism Act, none were detained for 28 days in high security prison, none had their financial assets ceased, none had their homes raided.
But when a Muslim is angered by the atrocities against the people of Iraq and Afghanistan and supports the resistance against foreign insurgents (western troops) or even voices his resentment, his house is raided, his family is terrorized, his wealth is ceased, detained in high security prison for 28 days, his civil liberties and human rights are stripped away.
The application of the Terror laws prove that it is tailored law to be used against the Muslims community, as part of the Crusade against Islam and Muslims. This fact was proven by the case of Miles Cooper who was found guilty of sending letter bombs to government institutes but was not charged under the Terrorism Act even though the judge said to Miles Cooper,
"You are a terrorist, there can be no mistake."
The people of Britain must realise that the action of her government is not reducing the Terror threat, but rather it is further fuelling the fire. The domestic laws of Terrorism which give justification for arresting or shooting people just for merely looking like a Muslim, Asian or Arab, and a Foreign policy of attacking and invading innocent states does not translate to the Muslim community as freedom and liberation rather it is a British Inquisition.
If the government does not stop her witch hunt of the Muslims, then it does not take a rocket scientist to realise that there will be some that will want to retaliate.
Freedom and justice is not a right of certain class of people, but a universal human right, so why are Muslims deprived of this right?
