A unique conference highlighting the various aspects of Islam and how they might function when implemented in Britain on state level has had to be moved due to a last minute cancellation by the venue proprietors. The organisers of the ‘Khilafah for Britain’ conference this coming Friday 15th August would like to declare that, despite efforts from the police and local authorities to silence the voice of Islam the conference will still take place Insha’Allah, at another local venue in the vicinity of Euston Road. All guests wishing to attend the conference and press agencies are therefore requested to meet up outside Friends Meeting House 173-177 Euston Road, London NW1 2BJ at 6:30pm where they will be directed to the other venue, which is about a 10 minute walk away.
However this is not the first time that the police and British government have attempted to stop the voice of Islam reaching the masses. Rallies at Trafalgar Square have previously been banned by the ex-Mayor of London Ken Livingstone, speakers at Islamic events have been threatened and even imprisoned for speaking up against oppression (such as Abu Izzadeen and Sheikh Abu Hamza) and Friends House itself, under pressure from police, have cancelled Islamic conferences before, at the last minute and intended to cause maximum disruption, in breach of their agreement and despite the booking being made in good faith with all relevant facts declared.
There is no doubt that Muslims in Britain are today living under an apartheid regime where there is one law for Muslims and another law for non-Muslims. Laws introduced by the Blair/Brown regime deliberately targeted at Muslims such as the glorification of terrorism, control orders, extradition legislature and powers of stop and search (without the need for reasonable suspicion) have created at atmosphere of fear and panic among the Muslim community. These measures are intended to justify the concept of an enemy within and to intimidate Muslims from speaking up against oppression and the state sponsored terrorism of the British regime both at home and abroad (as in Iraq and Afghanistan).
Nevertheless the Muslims of Britain and indeed Europe are the fastest growing community and the most practising of the various beliefs. It is a matter of time before they will be the majority community and also, as mentioned by the Prophet Muhammad (saw), the authority of the Muslims will be dominant with the Shari’ah being implemented. This is a matter of firm belief for all practising Muslims. Hence it is in our collective interest to discover what the beauty of Islam has to offer and how it will eradicate the ills of the current society and how it will resolve all the problems that beset mankind.
The conference this coming Friday is intended to give details about the various systems of Islam: Ruling, Foreign policy, Social, Economic and Judicial and to give an insight as to how they might function if and when they are introduced. An exhibition will be on display and free literature and DVD’s should be available for guests to take home with them. With talk of the implementation of aspects of the Shari’ah on everyone’s tongues this is a conference not to be missed.
