Free Society? Think Again. |
|
|
|
|
In which ‘free' society can a person be:
-
Imprisoned for seven years and five months
-
Then be released under a 24 hour per day, 365 days per year curfew
-
Allowed to enter his own garden only upon permission of the government
-
Only his lawyer, landlord or the emergency services are allowed to enter his home
-
He has to seek permission from the home office for any other visitor
-
And is forbidden from using a mobile or computer
-
Must wear an electronic tag at all times
-
Have his home be fitted with such equipment as may be considered necessary to ensure 'compliance'
-
Police officers or Home Office officials are allowed to enter his home at any time, remove any item and, if they wish, take his photograph
-
Have his name reduced to the letter ‘U'
Even though the authority/government has insufficient evidence to prosecute such a person.
Surely, it cannot be a society that believes in the motto: ‘innocent until proven guilty'.
Surely, in cannot be a society that believes in ‘all are equal before the law [irrespective of race, colour, language or creed]'.
Think again.
